Joan Miró

Welcome to the playful world of Joan Miró! This art box is all about Surrealism, symbolism, and experimenting with different forms of art.

To begin, young artists will take a peek into the life of Joan Miró. They’ll trace the development of his artwork and skills, from Cubism to Surrealism to sculpture. In the first two art projects, kids will study a specific piece of Miró’s art and recreate it using high-quality art supplies. They’ll work with bleeding tissue paper, foam, confetti, and more. There are also two dice games! Each roll of the dice will determine which kind of Miró-inspired lines the kids draw. The art box wraps up with a piece of 3D art: a sculpture crafted out of wire, paper mache, and plaster.
