In this month's box, children will learn about the life and works of one of the world's most famous Impressionist painters: Claude Monet. To start, they will read about Monet's life and look at three paintings from different stages in his career.
Then they will create 4 Monet-inspired art pieces! In each art project, children will practice Impressionism techniques and concepts. Young artists will try their hand at Monet's work by using oil pastels, watercolors, paper, and paint to create beautiful masterpieces! They will study and recreate Monet's work with water lilies, Le Havre landscapes, and sunsets.

Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge Paint Resist Reproduction

Children will learn all about Impressionism as they practice a recreation of Monet's San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk and then experiment on their own to create their own landscape. Water Lilies Diorama
