Beatrix Potter

Beatrix Potter was much more than a storyteller. She was a gifted scientist, farmer, and artist. In this art box, children will learn about her extraordinary life and work.

The box begins with a biography of Potter and an overview of a few of her most famous pieces of art. Then kids can dive into the art projects! All of your favorite characters are here: Peter Rabbit, Jeremy Fisher, Mr. McGregor, and more! Kids will learn how to trace using carbon transfer paper. They'll mimic Beatrix Potter's gentle watercolor painting style. Plus, they'll get to roll out some clay vegetables for Mr. McGregor's garden and use shrink paper to bring their favorite characters to life!

Pre-Buy $48.00 — This will ship on 8/20/24.

Activities in the Beatrix Potter Box:
Peter Rabbit Mixed Media Reproduction
Beatrix Potter wrote more than 28 books, but The Tale of Peter Rabbit was by far her most popular. This project gives children the chance to create their own mischievous Peter Rabbit hiding in the garden. They'll learn about Potter's watercolor techniques, design several different pieces, and layer all of the pieces to create the final scene.

Jeremy Fisher Watercolor Reproduction
In this project, children get the chance to work with carbon transfer paper. Instead of trying to draw Jeremy Fisher themselves, they'll trace him onto watercolor paper using the carbon paper. They'll learn how to paint the character, paying special attention to his shadows and layering the watercolors.
