Diego Rivera

Open this art box and jump into the life of 20th-century Mexican painter Diego Rivera. Using multiple styles throughout his career, Rivera is famous for the paintings he completed all over the world. He often incorporated the political and social struggles of his day into his paintings.

The box begins with descriptions of some of Rivera's most famous works. Then, dive in and create 4 Diego Rivera inspired art pieces! In the first project, kids will create their own version of The Flower Carrier using oil pastels and decorations that add depth to the piece. Then, use a similar oil pastel technique and some tissue paper to recreate one of Rivera's sunset paintings. Finally, dive into Rivera's cubism phase with two self-portraits and learn about the Day of the Dead with a painted mask.
